Having a Peice of Home with Me

Hello Everyone!

You may or may not have noticed that I've been some what absent from my blog the past few months.
Ooops, sorry!
This is because we had my Nan over from the UK!
If you weren't aware, I was born in the UK but now live in New Zealand. And because it's not the cheapest trip 'to and from', the time and memories I do have with my family are the most meaningful to me.

My Nan came over in December in preparation for my older sisters wedding on new years eve. It was all a very exciting time as you can imagine, but unfortunately that meant I barely had any time to sit down at my computer and write a blog post. But now that I'm here let me tell you all about it.

So first of course, my Nan. I still cant believe she flew half way across the world BY HERSELF to be here! She is amazing! I'm so glad she stayed as long as she did because the quality time we spent together was so important to me. Although she was here for a whole month, the time just flew by! I feel like there was so much more I wanted to show her, do with her, talk to her about; But maybe that will encourage me to start saving for a plane ticket of my own. Hmmm?
The things we did do together though were lovely. Not only did we make icing flowers for my sister wedding cake, but she taught me how to cross stitch; Side note it's super relaxing! I made my first ever Christmas Cake with her, And also just the quality time we spent together, pottering around was nice.

Next, was the wedding! It was the most magical night, filled with love, and tears, and laughter. So many amazing memories were made that night, all of which I'll cherish forever. It's a night I'll remember for a long time, Except for the hours between 10pm to 12am. Yeah, those I'm going to have trouble remembering. ;)

So that's what has been happening if my life recently.
Again, I'm sorry the large gaps between blog posts, But I'm back now and ready to write until my heart's content.

New Addition to The Family #2

Hello everyone!

Oh my gosh, today is an exciting day!

WE GOT A PUG!

Isn't he just so cute! Like I said in the video we got him because our older dog Cookie just seemed kind of lonely and sad. At first she really wasn't sure, but they seem to be getting along now.

I'm so thankful that we have have another amazing addition to our little family. Felix is so full of energy and life; I cant wait to start creating new and amazing memories with this little guy, which I'll be sure to share with you!

I hope you're all having an amazing day!

Christmas Is Coming

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!

Hello Everyone!

Although I am a big fan of Halloween, Christmas is always my favorite time of the year! Except for the fact that here in New Zealand it's boiling hot on Christmas day! It just feels wrong, you know? Christmas is 'stereotypically' filled with things like Snowmen, Christmas Robins, Bobble Hats and Scarves, Hot Chocolate by the fire, and of course the tacky Christmas Jumpers. But here in New Zealand, It's slightly different. It's about wearing minimal clothing to stay cool, cooking Christmas dinner on the BBQ outside, and building snowmen out of sand on the beach. I still find it bizarre, but hey...each to their own.

As it's getting closer to the big day, I though I'd take a few snaps around our house to show you how beautifully mum has decorated this year. Plus some bonus photos from when me and my brother filmed my Christmas video, which I'll also link below.

I'll be sure to take lots of photos on Christmas day as well!

Mum saw this on Pinterest. It's our Advent Calender this year.

Oh.

I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas!

All Hallows' Eve

Hello Everyone!

It's finally that time of year! Halloween!

Growing up in the UK, Christmas was always my favorite holiday. Christmas dinners, Snow, Robbins, Hot Chocolate, Conkers. And just the general feeling that Christmas was approaching.
But since moving down under, Halloween has definitely stolen the number one spot. The main reason being, I still can't get over the fact that it's searing hot when you wake up on Christmas morning. Also, New Zealand isn't the most festive of countrys. They don't even sell hideous Christmas jumpers! Probably because of the 'Searing Hot' Weather, but still! So because of that Halloween has definitely become my favorite holiday.

Again, New Zealand isn't the most festive of countrys, so even on Halloween it's a struggle just to find a decent costume. But that doesn't stop us.

This year me and mum spent the day decorating the house, baking scary food and of course...watching scary films!
Later in the evening my brother also invited a few of his friends, and we ended up setting off a bunch of 'faulty' Fireworks...Which ended up being quite funny.
All in all, it was a good/creepy night which we will definitely have to repeat next year!

What did you do for Halloween this year? Or what's something you'd love to do for Halloween? One year, I'd love to spend the 31st of October in Mexico celebrating the Day Of The Dead! I can imagine  that it would be absolutely breathtaking.

Excited To Be Going Home.

Hello everyone!

This weekend after spending Saturday with my dad I realized just how excited I am to be going back home, to the UK.

My dad has only just returned from his own trip back to the UK, and after hearing all the stories and seeing all the photos, and of course devouring all of  the English Goodies he brought back with him, I'm SUPER excited to be heading over there in July.

We moved to New Zealand in 2003 and since then I've only been back home once, in 2007. This year my Nan is turning 80, and my mum's always had the idea of going back to celebrate with her...so that's exactly what we're doing.

Now I don't hate New Zealand by any means but, I've always considered England my 'Home' regardless of the fact that I've been living in New Zealand for so long. Back in 2003 I completely rebelled against the fact that we were moving away as the thought of it TERRIFIED me! So I spent the majority of my childhood very isolated which probably explains when I'm so socially awkward...or just awkward in general now.

I'm so excited to be going back for SO many different reasons! First and foremost, I get to see my whole family again. Secondly, I wont only be blogging while I'm over there, but also VLOGGING! Which I've never really done before but to tell you the truth I'm actually quite excited to try. Thirdly, the huge variety of makeup, clothing brands and FOOD that are not sold in New Zealand...like Golden Nuggets, which are the best thing on the planet. And Lastly, I'll be making the huge decision of whether or not I'm going to be flying the nest and moving back there...WHAT!? AHHHH!

To anyone who actually takes the time to read this post, firstly thank you, and secondly get ready for some crazy awkward blogging nearer July...

Bye!

Crapola.

Hello everyone!

This blog post isn't going to be helpful to anyone who's looking for beauty tips or fashion advice, nor is it going to be very interesting...But this is my blog and I like to thing of my blog as my own personal space on the internet where I can express myself in all aspects. So here goes...

Lately I've been having a really poopy time. I've been in a really poopy mood and just feel crap...to say the least. But to be honest, thinking about it..I really have nothing to be sad about. I think everyone goes through this; a series of small shitty things that happen over a certain period of time and they just start to build up on top of each other..and soon enough you just feel well...shit!

For me it probably starts off with when I left school a year early to join a photography course, which I was so excited about at the time! But after a year I realized it just wasn't for me so I left(with two certificates) and here we are. Now that doesn't sound too bad right? It just seems like ever since I left my course, little things have happened that have really had an influence on the way I think...I guess? For example, ever since I left my course I've been struggling to find a job. I've had to get my licence so I'm actually able to drive my self places, as I live in the middle of nowhere(I got it on the second attempt). I'm trying to lose some of my 'Course' weight after living off junk food. And some other personal reasons which I wont get into on the internet. And with all these things happening in such a short period of time, it really does impact your way of thinking! Especially when your an anxious person like me. I tend to really over think things, which I NEED to stop doing! And because of that, the thing that's really been putting my in a poopy mood is the thought of...My Mum has a PHD, my Dad is a qualified mechanic who also opened up his own garage, my sister has a degree in nursing, my brother is studying to become an automotive engineer, and then there's me...who left school early to do a course she ended up leaving, and is now struggling to find a job while writing a blog and contemplating whether or not to start up a YouTube channel. Yep.

I feel like when you're at college(or high school) there is so much pressure to have to know exactly what you want to do when you leave school and jump right into university. And it is freaking stressful! When you're at school they make you feel as though if you don't learn the way they want you too, or if you have an 'unrealistic' career option then you're not going to make anything of yourself...which is bullshit! If you are passionate about your dreams then you will be successful in life.
Also, if you know exactly what you want to do, and you DO want to go to university straight away, then great! But if you don't, that's okay. We're only 18/19, and you don't HAVE to know exactly what you want to do or be as soon as you leave school. You can take a gap year, get a job, and I'm pretty sure you can go to Uni for the first year without even knowing what you want to do...So calm down!

So yeah, that is why I've been feeling crappy..but it's not the end of the world, and it could be a WHOLE lot worse! After going for a LOOONG walk yesterday and getting some good ol' fresh air, I kind of took a step back and though...I have a family that cares about me, a roof over my head, and unlimited internet so I can watch YouTube all day...just kidding. So what's the point of me being in a poopy mood!?

If you didn't like this blog post, then...sorry? But I actually feel better after writing this, and I'll leave you with some pictures I took from my LOOONG walk yesterday, plus my favorite quote which always makes me happy! Just in case you need some cheering up. :)

My favorite quote :)

I'm so high in life right now..
Coming home to a nice relaxing fire :)

New addition to the family.

Hello to everyone who reads my blog!

This is a slightly odd thing to be posting on a 'Fashion and Beauty blog', but I thought I'd share it with you as I'm quite excited about it!

I absolutely LOVE animals, and ever since I was a baby we've always had a variety of weird and random pets roaming around the house. From fish, to cats, to lizards, but if there's one animal we always have It's a dog. Up until about three years ago when our dogs at the time (Millie, Chloe and Mojo) were taken away from us, after Millie jumped up and nipped the finger of a man who was trying to sell us something...But anyway, after three long years without having a furry little side kick, my mum decided to adopt one.

So say hello to Cookie! :)

Look how excited she is to be on my blog!

My mum liked the idea of adopting a slightly older dog who was looking for a home instead of a puppy, and that's when she found Cookie. Cookie is a six year old ex-agility dog, who was looking for a new home after injuring her back and not being able to compete in shows anymore, but we were more than happy to have her and and welcome her into our home.

Fitting right into our little family.

So there you have it! :) I just thought i'd introduce you to her. She's such a chilled dog and a great new addition to our little family....and guess what, her favorite treat is ice cream! Don't worry we don't feed it to her a lot, as i'm sure it's not the best food to be feeding your dog....but I mean ice cream?! How cool is that!

Do any of your pets have cravings for weird foods?
