Review: LUSH's Shine So Bright Hair Treatment.

Hi there,

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure why I haven't already written this blog post...but better late than never.

Around Christmas time, I went a little bit crazy over the LUSH Christmas stock, so much that I still have a couple of 'Father Christmas Bath Ballistics' floating around my bathroom. Anyway, whilst picking out some of my favorites from the Christmas collection(on the website) I also decided to have a quick nosy around the hair treatments section. Nothing really stood out to me, until I saw a very over enthusiastic comment written under the 'LUSH Shine So Bright Split End Treatment'. It was only ten NZ dollars and this woman had claimed that it was some sort of holy grail miracle product, so I thought 'Meh, why not'.

When It arrived, I was shocked. It was the teeniest tiniest thing I had ever seen! And I instantly thought I had just wasted my money...but boy was I wrong! This product is incredible! I don't use it everyday, only when the ends of my hair are looking really dry and crispy. The smallest amount goes such a long way and I seriously can't believe how long it's lasted me. I've even gone out and bought a back up just in case I loose my first one.

If you have really dry and damaged hair, PLEASE try out this product! I have been swearing by it for so long now, so LUSH....please don't ever discontinue it. Thanks!

Mine is looking a bit rank now...it's just well loved.

Has anyone else tried it and LOVED it? Or ever tried it and hated it?

A Pop Of Color: Ombre.

Hello everyone!

As some of you know, for quite a while now I've been in constant battle with my hair! Although thankfully I've recently been able to tame it by getting it permanently straightened. But one other major flaws in my hair is what I like to call my 'Reverse Ombre'. What the heck is 'Reverse Ombre' you might ask? Well about two years ago now I made the courageous decision to dye my hair for the first time. My natural hair color is dark blonde/mousy brown, but I wanted a change....so I decided to dye my hair dark brown.
I quite liked it at first but little did I know what a giant pain in the butt it was going to be.

Personally, I feel that when girls with naturally brunette hair dye it blonde, their re growth doesn't start to look bad for a good while; but when girls who have naturally blonde hair dye it brunette, their re growth looks HORRIBLE! I feel like it almost looks like you have little grey/white hairs sprouting as the blonde re growth looks so light next to the dark brown, plus it feel like it takes FOREVER to grow back out.

At the moment my hair doesn't look too bad. My re growth has grown about 4-5 inches but it doesn't look nearly as bad as it once was as it's slowly blending into the brown(dyed) ends of my hair. Although when I'm out and about in the sun, it is quite noticeable.

So getting to the point...
I went out and bought a DIY Ombre kit which I've herd a lot of good reviews on recently, in the hope that if I'm feeling courageous again, I might dye the ends of my hair blonde. Just so I'm able to create a mousy brown to blonde Ombre instead of the mousy brown to dark brown 'reverse Ombre' I've got going on at the moment.

Also one more thing I wanted to add. Lately, floating around the internet I've seen the trend of 'Colored Ombre' which I'm sure many of you would have already seen too. It's almost like a dip dye. Basically it's when you add a 'Non Human' or 'Unnatural' colored dye to the lower lengths of your hair. And I'm LOVING it! It's so tempting! Although I'm not sure my hair could withhold that amount of dye, especially after having the ends lightened.

If I do end up dying my hair, I'll be sure to write a review on the box kit etc.

Has anyone else reading this added a crazy color to the ends of their hair before?

Health and Fitness #6: Green tea and a whole lot of water!

Hello everyone!

Yet again, it is time for another 'Health and Fitness' blog post.

When it comes to weight loss, everyone's always looking for some sort of miracle product which is going to give you the perfect bikini body in just 3 weeks! But lets be serious..it doesn't exist. As much as we all hate it, it does take hard work and a lot of patience to lose weight. Although there are ways of speeding up the process.

My mum's always told me the secret to losing weight is..'The more you drink, the more you shrink'. And no, drinking 2L of water a day isn't going to dramatically increase weight loss, but it does make a difference.

For the past few weeks, I've been drinking 2L of water a day plus 3 green teas(or my Tiny Teatox which I'll be writing a review on soon), and not only have I been losing weight but I'm no longer bloating, which was a big problem for me. Also my hair looks healthier and my skin seems to be glowing.

So although it's not some miracle theory on how to drop weight super fast, drinking lots of water has really helped curb my appetite and also helped me lose a further 3 pounds. So drink up! :)

My last cup of 'Your tea'

Permanently Straightening.

Hello everyone!

I am SUPER excited at the moment. It may not seem very exhilarating to you, but for me...you have no idea.

Naturally, my hair is very 'unruly'. As a child I remember having blonde ringlets, but the older I got the crazier my hair became; so I turned to straightening it, which is why my hair is so damaged now. Getting it permanently straightened means a few things:

1. I wont have to deal with the frizz ball I once had.
2. I wont have to resort to straightening it everyday.
And 3. It wont take me a million years to get ready.

I'm not going to lie, getting your hair permanently straightened is a long and painful process. You have to sit in a chair for six hours straight. Endure the smell of the horrid chemicals they're putting on your head. Spend an hour constantly flinching when the straightening irons get too close to your ears, and...it isn't the cheapest hair treatment. But of course for me, it's 100% worth it! I can't remember the last time I woke up and DIDN'T scream at myself in the mirror, because I thought a troll was trying to eat my head...

What did I do whilst sitting in a chair for six hours you ask? Well, that's something I kept asking myself before I left the house...but it turns out there were a few things that kept me amused. A huge stack of magazines, and I know it's wrong to listen in on other peoples conversations, but I loved listening to the group of older women getting their perms done gossiping and chatting about their husbands; they were hilarious! Also a teacher from the secondary school I went to was getting her hair done opposite me..needless to say she didn't recognize me as she started bitching and swearing about all her students....Naughty! You shouldn't be swearing like that Miss! ;)

All in all, I'm so pleased with how my hair turned out! I love it! If you're thinking about getting your hair permanently straightened, I'd definitely recommend it! I'm going to attach some pictures of my hair. Please excuse the before picture, my hair was horrid! It was super frizzy and my re-growth looked gross!(Luckily when my hair was straightened, it also lightened slightly so my re-growth isn't as noticeable)

Eeeek! No Make-up!

Has anyone reading this had their hair permanently straightened before? What did you do with your six hours?

My favorite hair oils.

I was introduced to 'Mythic oil' two years ago by my hair dresser after getting my hair permanently straightened. I have a long, damaging history with my hair starting way back on my 12th birthday when I got my first pair of straighteners (but that's a whole other story).

After getting my hair straightened I wanted to maintain it well and felt like I needed to keep it nice and healthy. My hairdresser suggested 'Mythic oil' and oh boy do I love it! I've been using it since the first day I bought it (two years ago), and It's still to this day one of my holy grail hair products.

I find it makes the end of my hair look less brittle and it's also great for hydrating dry and damaged hair. Another bonus for this product is it smell great! I've even had complements on how nice my hair smells after using this...which is a bit weird....but still nice. :)

So I highly recommend this oil for anyone with dry and brittle hair, and also its just quite a nice product to quickly run through your hair to make it appear more shiny and less dull.

Now onto my next all time favorite hair oil, 'Moroccan oil'. I was extremely late on the band wagon with this one. I've been using it for about four months now and am loving it!

For the past six months my hair has decided to become dry, frizzy, and super fragile....which sucks! I had heard of 'Moroccan oil' before, but for some reason I had never really considered buying it. But after reading some amazing reviews on it, I decided to treat my self (as it's not the cheapest of oils) and get some.

I apply it to the lower lengths of my hair when its towel dried, and then once my hair is completely dry it looks and feels amazing! It looks healthy, less brittle and since using this I've had lot less split ends.

So again I highly HIGHLY recommend this oil. Even though it is a bit on the pricey side you only need the teeniest tiniest amount on your hair. And it's just incredible...so go spoil yourself! :)

Anyone else have any recommendations on amaaaazing hair oils?
