Health and Fitness #9: It's been a year!

Hey everyone!

Woah! It's been a whole year since I started this 'Health and Fitness Series' on my blog. That went fast!

It's been an...interesting kind of year. There have been a lot of ups and down, but I feel as though I'm in a good place right now. When I started this 'Health and Fitness Journey' I didn't realize how much mental effort you need to put in as well as physical. I'm a BIG comfort eater, as are a lot of people. I turn to food whenever I'm feeling sad, lonely or scared. and since I have anxiety...that's been quite a lot. Now that I've got my medication sorted and I'm working on my anxiety, I feel like I'm in a good place. I'm no longer sad, I'm not having as many panic attacks and I've managed to control myself when it comes to food....only took a year. Whoop whoop.

At the moment I feel very optimistic about the future, which is something I haven't felt for quite a while. I still have things I'm sorting out, but at the moment I'm happy and HEALTHY ! And that's a huge step from where I was six months ago.

So the health and fitness journey continues and hopefully this time next year I will have made a little more progress ;)

Before I go, here's a nice little selfie from yours truly!

Thanks for reading!

Health and Fitness #8: Don't Give Up.

Hello Everyone!

Believe it or not, the healthy eating and fitness is still going...just at a very slow pace. Which is kind of what I want to talk about today.

So many people,(and I fall into this category) work themselves up and get ready to quit just because they're not seeing results overnight. If...like me, you're one of those people, we need to stop because it's ridiculous! And believe me when I say that nothing good will come out of it.

Maybe it is my fault for thinking I'm going to have a six pack after eating a salad...But I always end up on the verge of quitting and taking my sorry ass to McDonalds when I'm not seeing results after a week or two. Which is something I need to stop.
As much as we want it to be true, eating a few healthy meals and doing some light exercise wont bring dramatic results overnight, You have to work for the body and lifestyle that you want to achieve.

It is going to take a while, that's inevitable.
Don't keep falling off track just because you're not seeing dramatic changes all at once. I started my 'Attempt at a healthy lifestyle' in April, and if I hadn't been moping around back then because I couldn't see results, I'd probably be super healthy and fit right now. But unfortunately, because I'm impatient... I'm not.

If you're one of these people too, stop giving up! If you're eating healthy and exercising regularly, the results WILL come. You just have to be patient.

P.s. Sarah if you're reading this six months or even a year from now and you're still going in circles....JUST BE PATIENT...geezz!

Health and Fitness #7: Holiday Lifestyle.

Hey, hey, hey!

So as some of you may know, I've just got back from my AMAZING holiday in Singapore and England. You can read all about it in THIS blog post.

When you're on holiday, I feel as though you're almost obliged to eat crap. You're trying new cultural foods, constantly going out to eat with friends and family, and every time you say "Oh, sorry I can't eat that..I'm on a diet", the only response you will ever get is "Who cares, you're on holiday".

Basically, what I'm trying to say is....in the three week space that I was on holiday, I probably ate the same amount of food that I consumed in the entirety of 2012. So I guess you could say my diet wasn't exactly 'going well'. But now that I'm back, I've got a fresh start and I'm ready to get back on track. I am going to miss all the pizza's though....not so much the pizza hangovers. Yes, a pizza hangover is a thing. Click on THIS to see ;)

I think that's all I really have to say? Just remember, if you're on holiday and you're on a diet, It's okay to splurge....I mean who cares, you're on holiday ;)

OH ALSO! I got a new Tumblr account! So you can follow me HERE! :)

I feel like this blog post is just full of plugs....sorry!

Health and Fitness #6: Green tea and a whole lot of water!

Hello everyone!

Yet again, it is time for another 'Health and Fitness' blog post.

When it comes to weight loss, everyone's always looking for some sort of miracle product which is going to give you the perfect bikini body in just 3 weeks! But lets be serious..it doesn't exist. As much as we all hate it, it does take hard work and a lot of patience to lose weight. Although there are ways of speeding up the process.

My mum's always told me the secret to losing weight is..'The more you drink, the more you shrink'. And no, drinking 2L of water a day isn't going to dramatically increase weight loss, but it does make a difference.

For the past few weeks, I've been drinking 2L of water a day plus 3 green teas(or my Tiny Teatox which I'll be writing a review on soon), and not only have I been losing weight but I'm no longer bloating, which was a big problem for me. Also my hair looks healthier and my skin seems to be glowing.

So although it's not some miracle theory on how to drop weight super fast, drinking lots of water has really helped curb my appetite and also helped me lose a further 3 pounds. So drink up! :)

My last cup of 'Your tea'

Health and Fitness #5: Bloggin' and Vloggin'.

Hello everyone!

It's Thursdaaaaay! And I'm going to write yet another 'Health and Fitness' blog post for you.

I quite enjoy writing these blog posts. They seem to keep me motivated, and I like to think of them as a sort of documentation of my health and fitness journey.

What you may not know is that I've been on a 'Health and Fitness Journey' before...
When I was 15 I decided to loose a few pounds after getting bullied about my weight; and I did, But due to some personal reasons I unfortunately put the weight back on and here we are.

Whilst I was losing weight last time I recorded everything I did in a little journal, which helped me stay on track, and that's kind of where I got the inspiration to start writing these posts. Also, as well as writing these posts I've decided to vlog my progress too. I'm not entirely sure why I decided to vlog it? I don't think anyone will ever see it, its just another way to keep my motivated.

I'm not vlogging 'everything'....or am I? No that's weird. I'm just vlogging bits and bobs that I think are relevant I guess?

Does anyone else record their progress via a diary, a blog, a vlog...anything?

Just thought I 'd show you how cute my cats looked while writing this blog post! Awwww!

Health and Fitness #3: Fitness Playlist + Your Tea.

Hello everyone!

It's time for a new 'Health and Fitness' post! Yaaay.

It's been almost a month since I've started eating healthy, although I'm only just getting into a regular exercise routine...And as much as it shocks me, I'm actually really enjoying cardio!

I've been running a little and also following along with a few cardio workouts on YouTube which I'm really enjoying. The only bad thing about cardio for me personally, is that I find it really hard to 'keep going' or complete a workout without stopping; Sooo the other day whilst jumping and dancing around my room getting ready for the day, I had an idea. Dancing around my room to one direction songs like a maniac never tires me out, and I could do it for hours if i wanted to...so why couldn't running be that easy?

The next day I decided to run up and down my garden with my iPod and listen to the songs I'd usually listen to whilst gallivanting around my room. Surprisingly, it actually did make a huge difference! I think I stopped once but I definitely picked up the pace! Also once I'd finished I couldn't believe I'd just ran for about 15 minutes straight...when I could only usually run for about 5 before.

I find running with a playlist of songs so much easier, mainly because you're running to a beat...Plus music just puts you in a good mood! So if you're interested I'll list a few of the songs I have on my 'Fitness Playlist' that keep me motivated and also help me to workout at a reasonably fast pace.

1. Cobra Starship: You Make Me Feel.
2. Nicki Minaj: Starships.
3. One Direction: Happily.
4. The Pussycat Dolls: Don't Cha.
5. Little Mix: Move.
6. One Direction: C'mon C'mon.
7. One Direction: Up All Night.

A lot of One Direction, but who doesn't love a bit of 1D ;)

Oh, and one more thing! I've recently purchased Your Tea's 28 day Tiny Teatox which I'm super excited to try out! I'll be sure to do a review on it once I've finished the whole box.

Health And Fitness: Getting Started.

Hello!

So today I wanted to introduce something new and a bit different to my blog.

When I was about 15 I was really into being healthy and fit, but after going through college and pretty much living off junk food that quickly changed. So to encourage me to get back on track and regain my healthy lifestyle, I thought I'd start a little series of blog posts once a week(every Thursday) recording my efforts and giving helpful tips and tricks to those of you who are also looking to start living a healthier lifestyle.

This first post is basically just an introduction to the series, so I'm sorry it's not too long or interesting; But I will tell you a few things I've done this week to kick start my 'Healthy Lifestyle Journey'.

First. I'm getting my mum involved as well...just so we both have someone to encourage us, and plus it's always nice to have someone there beside you who knows exactly how you're feeling when you're craving 17 cheese pizzas and 4 tubs of ice cream.

Second. Me and my mum went out and bought our selves a blender, so we're able to make delicious smoothies for breakfast! And so far, I'm loving it.

Third. I'm trying to integrate more weight lifting into my workouts, as it's a great way to melt off the fat. I've always been so scared of lifting weights as I didn't want to get bulky, but the truth is for a woman to get super bulky..she'd have to be lifting super heavy weights and combine that with a WHOLEEEE lot of protein!

If you're reading this, I really hope that these blog posts are going to be of some help to you; And if you want to start your own little series of 'Health and Fitness' posts on your blog, then make sure to leave a link in the comments so we can be online health and fitness buddies!
